I’ve always been bold.
When I was 11 years old and in a rec basketball league (very high stakes, I know) one of the other players kept stepping on my feet. At half time, I complained to my mom, who promptly said to me determinedly “If she’s going to step on your feet, you’re going to step on hers.” And of course, I’m an active listener so the moment the game resumed, I walked straight up to this girl, stepped on her foot, and said brazenly, “Don’t mess with Texas.” I am from Arkansas.
My lengthy children’s theater background should tell you I’ve always had a flair for theatrics, which is what brought me to Chicago 10 years ago when I moved here from Arkansas (yes it’s a real place) to pursue comedy. Now, about a thousand unpaid improv shows later, I’m embarking on a new journey: finding out how to get paid for my writing. And I promise if you hire me, I won’t step on anyone’s feet (on purpose).
